2010 CONSTITUENT SURVEY

Your opinions are important to me. Please let me know what you think!
I'll post the results of the survey in our e-news in the following weeks. Look for it!

1. Governor Parnell has introduced a proposal to create an endowment fund, called "GPS" to award merit scholarships to Alaskan high school students with good grades. This would require the Legislature to take $400 million out of the Constitutional Budget Reserve. Do you agree with this concept?

Yes
No

If you agree, should there be a provision for low income students with unmet needs?
Yes
No

      Comments:

2. Do you support the development of an in-state gas line, or "bullet line" to deliver North Slope natural gas to Interior and Southcentral communities?

Yes
No

      Comments:

3. A number of states have banned the use of cell phones while driving in order to reduce traffic accidents. A bill has been introduced in the legislature to ban it in Alaska. Do you support this?

Yes
No

      Comments:

4. Several years ago, voters approved a 90-day limit on the Legislative session. Many legislators have expressed concern that this has resulted in less public participation and more special sessions during the year. Do you support continuing with the 90 day session?

Yes
No

      Comments:

5. The U.S. Supreme Court recently ruled that corporations have the same First Amendment rights to free speech as individual citizens, and have the right to spend unlimited amounts of money to influence public elections. Do you agree or disagree with this decision?

Agree
Disagree

If you disagree with the ruling, what do you think should be done about it?
