ATTENTION CHITINA DIPNETTERS

I wanted to make you aware of an upcoming Board of Fisheries meeting that will be covering two proposals dealing with the Chitina Dipnet Fishery.  Proposals 200 and 201 were generated by the Board of Fisheries as a result of the Superior Court Judge’s ruling in the subsistence lawsuit filed by the Alaska Fish and Wildlife Conservation Fund (AFWCF) and the Chitina Dipnetters Association (CDA).  For more information on the issue and the implications for the proposal, please visit the Chitina Dipnetters Association website.

The Board of Fisheries will be meeting at the Hilton Hotel in Anchorage (500 W 3rd Avenue) March 16-21.  Saturday the 20th and Sunday the 21st have been reserved to hear public testimony and deliberate over the two proposals.  Public comment to the Board of Fisheries must be received by March 12 to be included in the meeting workbook.  Comments must include the proposal number and a brief explanation of your support or opposition to that proposal.
